Description
Mt. Shasta from Lake Siskiyou at the sun came up this morning. This was a 20 second exposure. It was such a calm morning, so peaceful, I love the lines in the rock and the suns glow coming from behind the tree.
Lake Siskiyou is a great place to fish, swim, boat, camp etc. Located near the City of Mt. Shasta in Northern California a popular recreational area.
The bridge in the distance is on North Shore at a popular swim hole where people jump into the lake from the bridge into the swimming hole, there is also a rope swing. Popular hang out spot for the teenagers.
Mount Shasta is a potentially active volcano located at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, California. At an elevation of 14,179 feet, it is the second highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth highest in California. Mount Shasta has an estimated volume of 85 cubic miles, which makes it the most voluminous stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc.
