Description
Refraction photography is done with something that changes the direction of your image, in this case a Lensbal (crystal ball). It can be done with water or a detached lens. This is Castle Lake in Northern California. The Lensball is capturing the bank with the reflections and flipping that image upside down, then the reflection of the Lensball on the surface of the water is flipping it right side up. You can't really tell because the reflection was so clear to begin with.
Castle Lake is a mountain lake, usually froze over at this time of year, you can see the ice on the surface just behind the globe.
