Artist's Description
It's hot in Redding. Historic "former" Lorenz Hotel is one of Redding oldest brick buildings, where Deja Vu restaurant is, a favorite breakfast and lunch spot in Redding California. Color selective photograph of the red light at the corner, melting, because it's always hot in Redding, California. Building construction started in 1901 and was completed in 1902. It was the first building in Shasta County to have an elevator. The Lorenz Hotel closed in 1975 which had been run by members of the Lorenz family and was sold to private investors in 1976.
About Marnie Patchett
I'm an artist & photographer from Northern California, I grew up in the beauty of the Country but never really realized it and appreciated it until I started capturing it through the lens. My favorite type of photography is the long exposure photography, black and white, light trails and light painting. Having an image in my head and figuring out how to make it happen. I had no idea the possibilities of photography until I took it up a few years back, it's limitless. Learning and creating is a passion and an addiction.
