Artist's Description
Kayaking on Lake McCloud aka The McCloud Reservoir in McCloud California. Located in Northern California near Mt. Shasta, we were lucky enough to have snow around the lake and portions of the lake were frozen over. This camouflage Kayak was a Christmas present from my husband, it was my first time kayaking and will NOT be my last, I had so much fun.
Kayaking is the use of a kayak for moving across water. It is distinguished from canoeing by the sitting position of the paddler and the number of blades on the paddle. A kayak is a low-to-the-water, canoe-like boat in which the paddler sits facing forward, legs in front, using a double-bladed paddle to pull front-to-back on one side and then the other in rotation.
About Marnie Patchett
I'm an artist & photographer from Northern California, I grew up in the beauty of the Country but never really realized it and appreciated it until I started capturing it through the lens. My favorite type of photography is the long exposure photography, black and white, light trails and light painting. Having an image in my head and figuring out how to make it happen. I had no idea the possibilities of photography until I took it up a few years back, it's limitless. Learning and creating is a passion and an addiction.
