Artist's Description
A view of Mt. Shasta and Black Butte across the forest on the way to Castle Lake.
As a child, the adults used to tell us that Black Butte was formed when Mt. Shasta erupted. They said it's the top of the volcano, when the volcano erupted the top blew off and that's where it landed. I don't recall ever believing them.
Mount Shasta is a potentially active volcano located at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, California. At an elevation of 14,179 feet, it is the second highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth highest in California. Mount Shasta has an estimated volume of 85 cubic miles, which makes it the most voluminous stratovolcano in the Cascade Volcanic Arc.

I'm an artist & photographer from Northern California, I grew up in the beauty of the Country but never really realized it and appreciated it until I started capturing it through the lens. My favorite type of photography is the long exposure photography, black and white, light trails and light painting. Having an image in my head and figuring out how to make it happen. I had no idea the possibilities of photography until I took it up a few years back, it's limitless. Learning and creating is a passion and an addiction.
