Wow, the greenery in the foreground and the lines of the trestle and reflections are stunning ... and then the waves out in the ocean. A visually very pleasing composition!! l/f

Artist's Description

Pudding Creek Trestle in Fort Bragg, California. I shot this out of my "ocean view" hotel room window, I love the reflection of the bridge on the water. Pudding Creek Beach lines the creek before it goes under the trestle and out into the Pacific Ocean.

The Pudding Creek Trestle was made during construction of the Ten Mile Railroad in 1915 which brought wood from a logging area 10 miles North down into the town proper. In order to cross Pudding Creek the Trestle was built and it was used until 1949. The bridge itself is 527 feet long and 44 feet high with 34 uprights in it. It was rebuilt in 2007 and is now only for pedestrian traffic, and is an alternate route for pedestrians and bicyclists to get into town.

About Marnie Patchett

Marnie Patchett

I'm an artist & photographer from Northern California, I grew up in the beauty of the Country but never really realized it and appreciated it until I started capturing it through the lens. My favorite type of photography is the long exposure photography, black and white, light trails and light painting. Having an image in my head and figuring out how to make it happen. I had no idea the possibilities of photography until I took it up a few years back, it's limitless. Learning and creating is a passion and an addiction.
